11 Yr Old Writes Song About Bullying

Kelly Shannon recently shared this music video with me. Kelly’s 11 year old daughter, Susie, wrote this song after being bullied for 2 years. All the lyrics came out of a hard experience of being bullied. An experience which made Susie come home depressed and becoming a social outcast due to the bullying. The message of this song is powerful and inspirational. Yes, I teared up when watching it! Susie even made Nickelodeon news. Apparently, October is National Bullying Prevention month (didn’t know that).

There is a documentary coming out in mid-October to accompany the video, which will feature students in Susie’s hometown of Rhode Island giving first hand accounts of bullying. The hope is that both the documentary and video will inspire students to take a stand against bullying. Wow! Talk about God bringing good out of a bad situation!

Bullying is a big deal with preteens and this video has a positive message written by an 11 year old whose gone thru some struggles.
