What is an Uprising?

An Uprising is a revolt or fight against an organized group who claims power and control.

The events surrounding the first Easter caused a huge Uprising.

Easter is the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection—when Jesus physically rose up from the grave. Jesus also came to give us new life—with acceptance and freedom from God. Jesus was met with a lot of opposition. There were people that didn’t understand Him, some that didn’t agree with Him, and there were those that crucified Him!

As we look at all the events of the Easter story, we realize that this is the biggest uprising in all of history!

Uprising is a four-week series unpack this idea to preteens.

A Bible Study Series for Preteens

The Book of Proverbs is an 8 week series on how to be wise.

When preteens think of “wisdom”, the image of an old man with glasses and a mustache might pop in their heads.

It’s easy for them to miss the fact that “wisdom” is simply understanding how God wants them to live and then doing it.

Preteens need to know that being wise is something worth searching for.

Wisdom is attainable.

Why is wisdom important to preteens? Because they’re…

  • Taking the first steps to owning their relationship with God.
  • Placing relationships with peers a high priority and need help navigating those friendships.
  • Making lifestyle choices now that will affect them in the teenage years and beyond.
  • Still moldable and teachable.
