Mark your calendar’s for this year’s Preteen Ministry Conference in Rocklin, CA.   I’ve gone the past two years and plan to attend this year.  To my knowledge, it is the only conference that is preteen ministry specific.

One of my favorite elements is the size.  With about 100-150 in attendance you can really get to know others doing preteen ministry.  You have room in the schedule to grab lunch, dinner or coffee with other leaders from around the country.

The workshops and main session speakers are super good.  Sean Sweet, who hosts the conference, is one of the main session speakers.  He is a pastor at heart and it show through when he speaks.  Not very often you hear from a preteen leader of his quality in a conference setting.  Patrick Snow, Director of SuperStart!, is another speaker.  He has the unique advantage of touring the country speaking to preteens all over.  He knows preteens and what it takes to effectively reach them.  Craig Jutila will also be there.  Since the conference is small, you have the opportunity to grab a guy like Craig and pick his brian.  Something that would be impossible at a larger conference.  There are tons of other speakers and worksop leaders as well.

I hope to see you there!
