Looking for ways to use video in your preteen ministry? I’ve done a series of posts on the topic with a little help from some of my preteen pastor friends. If you haven’t read the previous posts, you

Post #1 – with Mike Sheley

This is how my friend Mike Branton, a preteen pastor in Arizona, uses video:

We use video a ton with our Preteens! It’s a great tool to use in teaching, announcements, games, moving logos, and hang out time. Before and after group we have music videos going in the background. During our service or small groups we have used video to teach a main point or enhance a main point and beyond. Some of our games & announcements involve video as well. We make them, copy them, pay someone else to make them, or youtube it. Our students connect to the screen (I don’t know if that’s good or bad but it’s effective). From something simple that sets the mood to a goofy home made video; using technology within your Preteen ministry is a must.

Here are two examples of videos that we use. One is a series intro video and the other a series logo loop.
